Last year, Tony Parziale penned a club-themed version of "'Twas The Night Before Christmas" for his President's Message.  It was so well done that I decided to bring it back for this year making some minor edits to reflect the current club membership.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through our club
The only one stirring, was a Merritt named Doug.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Jeff Knol, would inspire with a prayer.

The Rotarians were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of happy-dollars danced in their heads.
And Lisa Youngberg in her ‘kerchief, and Kevin Lynch in his cap,
Were making great plans, for the next soiree, on tap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Josh Turner arose to see what was the matter.
He grabbed for his camera, including the flash,
Tore open the shutters and then made a dash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow.
John Wallmark was watching, for objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Emad with sheep, who were dressed as reindeer.

With Ed Zimmerman driving, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment “this guy’s pretty slick!”
More rapid than eagles, our club members came,
And they whistled, and shouted, and called each other by name!

Paul Blodgett! Inder Ghai! and Beth Desai!
Bill Hyncik! Bill Beachell! And Jim Bartolomei!
There was Keith Wheelock doing Zumba! Be careful don’t fall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As Jeff Gould came running with Shreesh Tiwari,
DG Ann Walko heard the call, to take to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and Heather Achenbach too!

And there was Don Matthews, ahead on the roof,
With Mary DeCicco, who was fixing a tooth.
And there was Kris Hadinger, who was turning around,
To see down from the chimney, where Dennis Helms could be found.

Art Martin was dressed from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all regal, no ashes or soot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
Ron Dolenti was helping, and opening his pack.

Norm Silverstein twinkled! his dimples how merry!
Kip Higgins joined in, his nose like a cherry!
Nathalie Cassion, with her hair in a bow,
Watched Maria Kauzmann, play in the snow.

Matt Romanoski had a pipe, he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
Tyler Tomalavage rode a horse, who he named Ole’ Nellie,
Who shook, when she galloped, like a bowlful of jelly!

Sharon Prosinski, made friends with a jolly old elf,
Who laughed when she said, “you belong on a shelf!”
Cory Wingerter gave a twist of his curious head,
To let the elf know, he had nothing to dread.

Louise Wilson, went frolicking, straight to her work,
While Denise Crowley filled the stockings; then turned with a jerk.
And Andy Mozumdar, with his fire truck and hose,
Was met by Jenn Ragnow, as up the chimney he rose!

Then Tony and Zoltan, to their team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew, like the down of a thistle.
But I heard them exclaim, ‘ere they drove out of sight,
"A Rotarian Christmas to all, and to all a Good-Night!"

So Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to you and yours.  See you all in 2021!

Rotarically Yours,
Zoltan Nagy
