No joke – our next meeting will be held on April 1st.  Since my term as President ends precisely at 11:59PM on June 30th, we are now officially in the home stretch of the Rotary year.  It goes without saying that this has been a rather unusual year.  But rather than focus on the struggles and what we couldn’t do this year, I’d like to use the President’s Message to focus on the things that we can still accomplish by July 1st and the dawn of the Mozumdar Administration.
So before the end of the Rotary year, we need to:
  • 50/50 Tickets – Sell them.  Sell them now.  Get the money and tickets to Paul Blodgett no later than May 1st.  But don’t put it off, do it now.
  • Flags For Heroes – The FFH Committee will be announcing details on this project very soon.  But be prepared to sell some flags and get some sponsors.  There is no Run With Rotary this year so take the effort you normally would have done for RWR and put it into Flags For Heroes.
  • Habitat For Humanity – They are building their first house in Montgomery Twp and our club is committed to providing 10 volunteers on Tue May 11th
  • Next Year’s Board – If you haven’t done so already, reach out to President-Elect Andy about serving on next year’s Board.
  • Attend Meetings – We will be back live at Cherry Valley starting on April 8th.  There will still be a zoom option to attend meetings as well.  Please make every effort to attend meetings as the club feeds off the energy of its members.
  • Public Relations – Like, share and comment on the club Facebook posts.
  • New Members – Now that we’ll be back in person, please feel to bring prospective members to the meetings.
As we start down the home stretch of this Rotary year, realize that Rotary is more like a relay race in which we pass the baton from year to year.  And like a relay race, the runner who is finishing the lap and the runner who is starting the lap are in full motion at the time the baton is exchanged.  So the faster we sprint in these last few months, the more energy and momentum President-Elect Andy and the Club will have starting out next year.

Rotarically Yours,
Zoltan Nagy
President
Rotary Club of Montgomery/Rocky Hill (NJ)
