Do you have an old unused bike sitting in your basement or garage just gathering dust??   Donate that bike to Bikes for the World at our bike collection event held rain or shine on Saturday, Sept 28th between 9AM and 1PM in the parking lot of the Blawenburg Reformed Church.
Adult and kids bikes are accepted in all types (road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids) provided that they are in repairable condition (please no bikes with rusted frames).   In order to help defray the shipping costs, we are requesting a $10 donation per bike donated (not mandatory).

This is the first year that the Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Club will be organizing a bike drive to benefit Bikes for the World.   Since 2005, Bikes for the World has been partnering with community organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region to collect 150,000 bikes and sending them to carefully vetted charitable organizations in over 25 developing countries around the world where they transform lives one bike at a time! These bikes become a valuable form of transportation which allow people to get to work, allow them to do more work because they can travel farther than by just walking, increase educational opportunities as well as improve access to healthcare.  So, while this bike collection helps with economic development in developing countries, it also helps the environment by keeping usable resources out of our landfills. Win-win.

If you can't make it to the collection on the 9/28, Belle Mead Garage has graciously offered to allow people to drop off the bikes at their location during normal business hours (8AM - 6PM) starting on 9/14.  Please no dropoffs at Belle Mead Garage before 9/14 or after 9/27.

Any questions, please email the project chairperson, Zoltan Nagy, at znagy@scdg-md.com
