This Week's Meeting 10/15
We will be meeting at Cherry Valley Country Club outside on the 2nd floor patio which can be accessed by going through the main entrance and turning left and going through the bar area.  Masks must be worn at all times when inside the building, as well as, outside if you are within 6 feet of someone else.   A limited breakfast will be available.  We will also send out a Zoom link to the membership so that all can participate.  Our speakers this week will be Jim Allison, a member of the Madison Rotary Club, who will be making a presentation on the Japan Exchange Program.
Year Of The Woman
One of the themes for our  Rotary District Conference next May is “Year of the Woman.” as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of women’s right to vote and the nomination of the first female Rotary International President!  Jennifer Jones, confirmed to become Rotary International’s President for 2022-2023, will be the first woman to hold that office in Rotary’s 115 year history!

Our club has been asked to have  ONE woman in our Club participate in the creation of a video to celebrate women Rotarians.   The video can be approximately 10 seconds long and needs to include ONE of the following:
  • Woman President: submit a video stating your name, club name, and what you’ve enjoyed or found most rewarding as President of your club.
  • Woman who has promoted diversity in your Club:  submit a video stating your name, club name, and what you’ve done to promote diversity in your club
  • Woman who has championed a girls’/women’s cause:  submit a video stating your name, club name, and the women’s cause you’ve championed.
  • Woman who has exemplified Rotary service in the local community:  submit a video stating your name, club name, and the Rotary service you demonstrated in your community.
  • Woman who has promoted any of Rotary’s 7 area’s of focus:   submit a video stating you name, club name, and the area of focus you’re promoted.
If you're interested in doing the video, please email Zoltan Nagy.
BfW Posters
Our Bikes for the World will be held on Saturday October 24th.  The main thing we need to do before then is to publicize the event.  We will have social media up shortly but if anyone knows of a business where we can hang a poster for the event, please pick one up at our Thursday meeting.
President's Message: Rotary Geography
I recently had a membership inquiry from someone who lived just outside the Montgomery Twp line who wasn’t sure that precluded them from being a member of our club.  While we are the Rotary Club of Montgomery/Rocky Hill, there is no requirement that our members reside or work within the boundaries of Montgomery Twp or Rocky Hill.   Of course, it doesn’t make much sense for someone to join our club if they don’t have some connection to the area but don’t rule out potential new members from surrounding towns.
