We will again be having our Thursday weekly meeting outside under the pavilion in Van Horne Park in Rocky Hill at 7:30AM (access via the light at Benjamin Blvd by the Burger King on Route 206). Food and drink will not be provided but feel free to bring your own food and drinks if you prefer. Masks and social distancing will be required. We will also send out a Zoom link to the membership and try to patch people in so that all can participate. If the forecast calls for heavy rain, we will move the meeting strictly to Zoom (an email will go out the night before). Our speaker for this week will be Charles G Horn from Keller Williams who will discuss the state of the local commercial real estate market.
A friendly reminder that if you are scheduled to be a Greeter and can't make it, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. At a minimum, please let Zoltan Nagy know that you can't make it. The greeter schedule for the next few weeks is in the Reveille (which is what you're currently reading). And, yes, you can be a Greeter even if you aren't physically at the meeting but use Zoom to connect. All you need is an invocation and to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Kevin Lynch has proclaimed Save The Date for this year's Installation Dinner!!! That date is Thursday Sept 17th from 6:30PM to 8:30PM at Cherry Valley County Club (please note it will be held outside). Details to follow.
We are still planning on doing a Bikes For The World collection some time in October. In the meantime, we occasionally get opportunities to pick up bikes ahead of the collection date but need a place to store them. For example, there are 50 to 60 bikes at a bike shop just over the river in Newtown, PA that we can take if we had a place to hold them. If you have some sort of covered storage that we can use until the collection date, please contact Zoltan Nagy.
I’ve spent a fair amount of time over the last few months in Rotary training sessions and other Rotary related meetings involving our district, zone and international leadership. As such, I can tell you that Rotary International is very concerned about membership growth remaining flat. This is not strictly a Rotary issue. All service organizations are experiencing the same dynamic (if anything, Rotary is probably in better shape than the others). On a national level, the issue is not that new members aren’t joining but they aren’t staying for more than a year or two.
