We will NOT be meeting at Van Horne Park this week. This week is the official visit from District Governor Ann Walko and will be held via Zoom jointly with several other Rotary clubs. The meeting link will be sent out via email to members. We will resume our meetings in Van Horne Park the following week 7/23 with an option to connect in via Zoom. We tried the hybrid format for the first time last week and it worked surprisingly well.
One of the traditions of a Rotary District Governor is to visit every club in their district during the course of their one year term. Given the COVID-19 situation, things will be done a little differently this year. Our official visit by District Governor Dr M Ann Walko will take place via Zoom on Thursday, July 16th at 7:30AM. We will also be joined by the Rotary Clubs of Clinton Sunrise, Hanover and Roselle. A registration link to all members will be sent out prior to the meeting and all members must sign up individually. Please note that there will be no in-person meeting in Van Horne Park on that day.

The Flags For Heroes display at Montgomery High School will be held this year from Sept 1st thru Sept 13th. Sales to sponsor heroes start this week - please see the website (www.montgomeryrotary.org) for complete details. For any questions, please contact Josh Turner.
We are still planning on doing a Bikes For The World collection some time in late September or October. In the meantime, we occasionally get opportunities to pick up bikes ahead of the collection date but need a place to store them. For example, there are 50 to 60 bikes at a bike shop just over the river in Newtown, PA that we can take if we had a place to hold them. If you have some sort of covered storage that we can use until the collection date, please contact Zoltan Nagy.
District 7475 is holding six one hour virtual training sessions over the next two weeks as follows. Each session starts at 7PM and registration is required. If you are interested and haven't already registered, contact Zoltan Nagy who can provide you the meeting link.
Our friends at the Rotary Club of Robbinsville Hamilton are holding a virtual magic show fundraiser on July 29th at 7PM. For more information and ticket info, please visit www.MercersGotMagic.com
A few years ago, a picture went “viral” on Facebook showing a pair of sneakers. Some clearly saw the sneakers as being pink and white while others swore that the colors were teal and gray. Despite it being somewhat trivial, the issue was hotly debated around the globe as people could not understand how other people could not see it as they see it. This example popped into my mind as over the last week as the topic of “impact” arose in several different Rotary conversations as it relates to the impact our club’s charitable giving has on individuals, our community, and the world.
