We will be meeting at Cherry Valley Country Club outside on the 2nd floor patio which can be accessed by going through the main entrance and turning left and going through the bar area. Masks must be worn at all times when inside the building, as well as, outside if you are within 6 feet of someone else. A limited breakfast will be available. We will also send out a Zoom link to the membership so that all can participate. Our speaker this week will be Jennifer LaStella from Montgomery Twp Animal Control.
October 24th is World Polio Day. A day to take stock of the battle against polio. This year a milestone was reached when Nigeria had no cases of polio and Rotary International was able to declare that the entire continent of Africa was “polio free”. This leaves only two countries where polio has not been completely eradicated: Afghanistan and Pakistan.

My mother passed away last Friday just a few weeks short of her 96th birthday. Though she had been in declining health over the last few years and lived a long full life, it’s still a bit of a shock to realize that she won’t be there anymore. She’s always been there and now she’s not. The funeral is being held this Thursday morning, so I won’t be at Rotary this week. In my absence, Vice President For Life Doug Merritt will be running the meeting. Please laugh at his jokes. Thanks to those of you who have reached out with condolences and prayers, I very much appreciate it. I’ll see you all next week.
